Giggle Alpha I - Numbers

We had a fabulous time last night with our friends!  We went old school and played trivial pursuit, euchre (mental note to self to spell check) and stayed up until 3 in the morning!  Allison and I dressed our children in matching pajamas and I will admit we had matching pjs too!  We are totally paying for the late evening and will probably not see the ball drop at midnight lol!  I have always hated New Year's Eve so it is no big deal anyway!

Giggle Alpha I

I have to make this super quick because our company should be arriving in about 10 minutes and I am sneaking this post in while my husband is at the store picking up a few things I forgot :)

I can see by the titles of the most recent emails in my very full inbox that some of you are having trouble with the last two downloads. They work fine for me and I can open them too but I have rezipped them and uploaded them so scroll down to try them again. 

I found (and I am sure you did too) it frustrating with my Run, Skip and Jump Kits that the alphas were handed out by letter and it made it hard to make any words until we were at least half way through lol!  This time I will be handing out the complete alphas so that we can immediately spell our words!  Numbers and punctuation tomorrow!

Shout - January Papers

Hello!  Our party was changed to tomorrow night so I have had a little extra time to prepare and I am so excited about seeing our friends!  I got back from grocery shopping at 10 tonight.  At least everything will be fresh!  I spent several hours today putting Lego together, apparently it is not wise to buy Lego for your 4 year old that is labelled for 8-12 years old lol!  No chance for email today, will try again tomorrow lol!

Smirk - January Papers

I have read a few comments that you are a little confused about the project we have started here but I promise once things get back to normal in the new year that I will create a bunch of layouts showing you how I envision using the new kits :)  Aside from reading comments while I am posting I have not had any time to respond or even to get to my email.  I miss you though!

Still cleaning ... there is something about the new year that makes you just want to purge and start fresh!

Giggle - January Papers

This is the first part of the "themed" sections of our year in review kits.  I will be getting to work on our themed elements and word art over the next week ... after we are finished with all of our holiday company. Thankfully, I made these papers in advance so I have them availbable for you now - I seriously have only spent around 5 minutes a day on the computer since last Friday and it is starting to drive me batty!  I miss you!  We had a house full tonight and they just left a half an hour ago. It will take us all day to get ready for the next party on Monday!  I love Christmas, company and entertaining but as I approach New Year's Day I have the overwhelming urge to tear it all down and get back to normal life if you know what I mean!

Shout - Essentials I

 

I haven't had a chance to correct the red eye in the photos above ... I have been too busy making cakes in the Easy Bake Oven lol!!!

We had a fabulous Christmas, there were no fights over toys and eveyone loved everything!!  I must say though that I am ready to pitch the Eva robot that we bought for Abby into a snow bank - it is as irritating as the movie was (Wall-E).  Brady turned from 8 years old to 16 years old over night with his MP3 player and Josh is completely preoccupied with making Aliens (Martian Matter game).  Abby is obsessed with her Barbie dog that you feed, make it poop and then scoop it up with the pooper scooper.  I now know that we would be willing to get a real dog if we can find one that poops magnets.  Any ideas?  Is there such a breed lol?!

P.S.  Who exactly is it that is trying to steal Barbie's hair?  It must be a high theft item given the fact that Mattel finds it necessary to SEW it into the packaging!  My fingers are raw from trying to open these ridiculously packaged toys. (See past packaging rant here lol!)

We are off to my Auntie's for a Christmas dinner feast!  Abby is bringing the cake she made in the picture above for dessert!

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Smirk - Essentials I

I am feeling most Christmasy today!  I think I am almost as excited as the children!  I just can't wait for tomorrow when they are so excited that they will barely be able to contain themselves and I am excited for them to open up their presents on Christmas morning.  Abby is the best receiver you have ever seen.  She opened up a set of dolls from my brother on the weekend and literally threw herself on top of the box and screamed "it's just what I always wanted"!  She had never seen nor asked for the dolls before but it didn't matter - when she saw them it was like all of her dreams had been answered.  It is like that with every gift for Abby and it absolutely warms your heart.

We drove around tonight looking at Christmas lights, a tradition carried on from my family that I love, and I didn't even let the wicked little children spoil my mood when we had to pull the car over because of the screaming and fighting over who saw it first and which one was their favourite that could not be anyone else's favourite.  You know what I mean - those fights that happen during what are supposed to be memorable family moments that make you want to scream at them that they are ruining it lol!  Well I didn't let them ruin it for me.  I came home feeling just as Christmasy (after throwing them in bed and pouring myself a large coffee with Baileys and cinnamon sprinkled on top lol), no I won't let them ruin it!

Giggle - Essentials I

I am thrilled with your response to our new project!  Thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments and feedback - you have given me a lot to work with!  Believe me, there will be much more to work with than the one page calendar template from yesterday - that is just the starting point for our albums!

You have the "essential" papers to start and for each of the 12 parts of these kits there will be an "essentials" elements set.  Non-themed but necessary for completing a year worth of pages :)  Here is the first set for Giggle:

January 2009 - Template

Now that we have all of the papers for our new kits lets start our project!

 

 

 

We are going to do a "Year in Review" album.  Not a "new" idea but hopefully one that will help keep us on track with our layouts for 2009.  There will be 12 sections (obviously!) complete with monthly papers, essential elements, themed elements, word art, tutorials, templates and alphas.  I am planning on doing 6 layouts for each month (2 in each of the new colour schemes) so my book will be 72 pages long!

I am going to need your help again this time!  I know all of you brilliant ladies will help to make this a fabulous mega kit!

Could you please leave me in your comments your January themed words, phrases and elements?  Examples of what I am looking for are "Baby it's Cold outside", how about some mitten elements, Brrrr!, Happy New Year - get the picture?!!  I know not all of you live in cold climates so please make sure to tell me what you would like!
