Wow! I can not believe all of your stories from yesterday! I have loved reading all of them and I can seen that I am definitely not the only one on the island! I was really happy to see all of the self-proclaimed lurkers come and to comment as well!
I was really quite saddened to read about the families who have adopted children and the insensitive questions that you get asked. People really are quite dense sometimes aren't they?
I am going to make themed paper packs for both multiples and adopted children and I will ask for your contribution for words soon!
You are not going to believe this story after my post from yesterday but it is totally true! I went to the grocery store the other day after school with all 3 children. I know, it is my fault for taking all 3 of them especially when I have no excuse now that they are all in school part-time. Actually my excuse is all of the personalized kits I have been making! Anyway, I never do a small grocery shop and so by the time we ended up at the cash register, two carts and $414 later the darlings were not in the best of humour. Abby had a full out melt down at the cash and I was about to lose my mind. Now I know that the "books" tell you to remove yourself and the child melting from the situation but I was not about to come back later to start the grocery shopping all over again. I ignored the tantrum and smiled. On my way out of the grocery store I stopped at the little wine store (inside the grocery store but separate - Canadian laws) and picked myself up a little pick-me-up (lol!) for later that night. I put the bottle of red wine on the counter and no word of a lie the woman behind the counter looked at me, then looked at my 3 children and 2 shopping carts and said: "Are you sure that is going to be enough?"
Can you believe it?!!! Sometimes things tick you off and sometimes things crack you up and THAT cracked me right up!
I have thoroughly enjoyed doing these Rock and Roll papers tonight, I sang Joan Jett's "I love Rock and Roll" all the way through and became quite nostalgic! Here is a picture of my husband and me when we were 18 years old and full out rock star wannabes!
Fast forward 17 years and here is my hubby (same guy, different suit) loving the new white leather chair (very 80's rock by the way) and shag carpet:
I hope you like the new papers, I threw in some non-Jump colours on the extra ones as they just didn't seem Rock and Roll enough to me! I couldn't add any band names (I see there are a lot of Beatles fans here!) or name brands (guitar hero etc) due to copyright/trademark laws. Hope you like them!
Download expired but you can still find it in my Digitreats Store
Personalized Kits - Emily and Charla both left comments regarding the personalized kits inquiring as to if they are still available and how long will they be available. The answer is YES they are still available and I will probably leave them open for new names until mid-late September. I will let you know at least 1 week in advance when I decide to stop doing them. I haven't been chatting them up because I was completely overwhelmed with requests but I am down to the last dozen that I have on my list so please feel free to order - not all at once again though please!!!!! I am going to put a list together this weekend (after I have finished the last dozen) of the names I have done so far that will be available for same day download.

As usual your comments bring a smile to my face. Love the photo of you and DH. Brings back memories of when my 4 children were that age. You are a bit younger than my youngest but close enough for me to relate.
Hope the wine did the trick!

Love the photo, that's a great keepsake you have there! I would have laughed about the wine, too, if she could have the lady would probably have given it to you for free. Somewhere, sometime, no matter how well behaved your child is they just have to have a meltdown in the middle of a store. I think it's part of growing up. Smiling through it is a good option if you ask me!

Great photos. :-) I've been having fun on "blip.fm" posting songs from, uh, my youth. Yeah, that's it. :-)
BTW, true story. When my son's acting like he's sucking all my energy and bouncing off the walls and we go shopping, when the clerk says "Would you like anything else?" I sometimes reply "not unless you've got some aspirin, the phone number of a good babysitter, and two tickets to Hawaii." A few days ago, son was acting nutsy and the clerk looked at me and, after concluding my order, said, "Aspirin is in pharmacy. My daughter is taking babysitting classes on the weekends, so in a few weeks she can do that for you. As for tickets, did you know we've got a contest two win tickets to Hawaii this month?" I bust up. I think I need to change my line ... :-)
Thanks for the totally rockin' papers! Long live the 80s!

The papers are awesome! I love when we get a little extra treat from you - it's like we're all friends instead of strangers/customers/blog stalkers. It's nice. I LOVE the wine story. I would have fallen on the floor laughing.

That is very funny. I'm glad you got some humor in especially in the middle of Abby's meltdown. Oh my - Abby looks JUST like you.
You know speaking of adopting - my hubby's boss has kids - their oldest is technically his step-son, but the "natural Dad" is not in the picture and he refers to all of them as his kids. But my hubby drives me crazy b/c he ALWAYS clarifies. I keep telling him not to b/c he raised this kid and that makes him his son - especially if they see it that way. He's getting better, but it drives me crazy...
Thanks for the new papers.

Oh, goodness. I would probably be that clerk that waited on you....lol. If you were in Missouri that is. I clerk at a liquor store. Love her. She must be a soul sister. People are so ignorant. Try to remember that when they say stupid things. Thanks for the goodies. Patty

I enjoyed your story about grocery shopping. I too, remember when mine were that age. I have a few embarrassing moments I could relay as most of us could.
The one thing that has delighted me now that mine have their own little darlings...and that is that the "Mother's Curse" works.
You remember..."I hope one day you have children that act just like you."
My son has a 5 year old son that is as hyper-active as he was and he told me not long ago that he was really sorry for the way he acted when he was young, now please remove the curse! I just laughed!
What comes around, goes around! (or is it the other way around?) LOL

First thank you for the rock and roll papers.I loved those years.Your photos are super.
I have 3 children and the middle one a son has red hair.No one in our immediate family has red hair. You won't believe how many times I was stopped and asked where he got his red hair.I started replying "his hair, why he was born with it".The look on their faces was priceless.lol.

I'm caucasian and my husband is Asian, my first child looks just like him. When she was six months old we were all in a store together, but my husband had wandered a little way away from me. The store salesperson walked up to me and said "Awwww! Where did you get her from?" I was so dumbfounded that I just pointed to my husband and said "from him!"
A friend later told me that I should have said "from my uterus!" That might have stopped her from saying anything that ignorant in the future!
Thanks!
