Jump ABC Kit - The "L" Alpha

Here is another layout I did using my new Noah Kit.
I can't believe that sweet little boy in the picture is 8 years old now. His birthday was last Saturday but we had his party with school friends today. Two thoughts - don't worry, I am not going to go off on packaging again lol! - (1) Do you find that you are even more annoyed by other people's children? (2) We planned a pirate party which as we discovered may have been a little juvenile, Brady didn't think so but we quickly picked up on some of the (annoying) children's reaction and modified the party to include Guitar Hero/Rock Band and Bakugan - My question is - are we old now? Are we so out of it that we would have included Barney in the 8 year old's party if he was available?
I just tried to quickly scan the comments to find out where I saw a few people who were concerned about when the ABC Kit party ends (couldn't find them again) and how sad it would be. I want to put your minds at ease - my twins will be starting kindergarten in August and that means I will have more time on my hands! The party will not end after the ABC Kits finish, I have been thinking about what will be next for a while, and I promise there will be a lot more nexts. Don't worry though - they won't take as long to finish as this one! I have no intention of becoming a "one hit wonder" lol!
Download expired but you can still find it in my Digitreats Store
Could you please leave me your "I Love You" phrases in any language and your "love" words for the next Jump papers? If you left them in the post from the other day when I asked which of the two papers you wanted and you said both (re: secret digitreats meeting) lol then you don't need to leave them again!

Hey I am the first to comment. YAY. Thanks so much again.

so glad to hear you won't be a 'one hit wonder,' but i don't think you'd qualify anyhow, lol! and to answer one of your questions, no, we aren't getting old, we just believe in the inocent years of childhood and not letting our kids become jaded and grow up too fast. as for the other, yeah, other people's kids are more anoying (as i'm sure ours are to others, lol!), but only because they were raised with someone else's expectations instead of ours - which doesn't make them any less annoying, lol!
here is a link showing the sign for i love you:

and this one has two love stamps:

First I don't think you old I think people are making children grow up to fast but not productively. We shorten childhood and lenghten teenagerhood and this is just bad. Children used to have fun and responsiblity. This responsibility grew as they did and they emerged from childhood into young adulthood and skipped the whole teen thing all together. And as they grew they never lost their sense of wonder and play. Now we tend to rob kids of childhood but don't give them building responsibility so they spend years wandering in a waste land to graduate from school with no direction and still dependent. Okay off my soap box but this is a big pet peeve of mine. I hate shopping for clothes especially for my daughter. I want her to look like the little girl she is not a slut in training. It was so sad she came home from choir practice at church one Wednesday and said I have to get rid of my dolls and stuffed animals. So I ask why. And she said because everyone says that now that I'm 6 I'm a baby if I play with them. To which I quickly reply that's to bad that they forgot how to have fun. I still like to play with dolls. Let's go play with them now. This seemed to get her over the hurtle. But I'm thinking 6 is too big to play. I get so sick of 5-8 yo talking about their boyfriends. Please. I always tell them you shouldn't have a boyfriend until he's old enough to support a family. I just think its sad. Sorry that got a bit long winded.
Love words well of course in the Southern US we still say I love you or love ya. Other love words down here would be Sweetie, Honey,Sugar, Sweetie Pie, Sweet Pea. Yes we love our sugar which is evidenced by our Iced Tea.

Kids are growing up way too fast in my opinion! A friend made a comment the other day that most kids by the time they are 8 or 9 don't have birthday parties in the traditional sense as it's not cool! Instead they prefer to take a small group of friends to the movies/skating/bowling etc followed by a meal in a fast food restaurant. I wonder if this is the kids choice or the easiest for the parents!!! My eldest will be 5 in a couple of months and I hate to think that we may only have a few more years of birthday parties for her!
I'm very pleased to hear there is more to follow the ABC kits! I need my daily hit of Digitreats (I love seeing what you have created for us next!!) and was already wondering how I would cope once we reached Z!!! On that note I was thinking it would be nice to add # 1 - 10 in the paper sets as you have done for the letters, they would be quite useful for birthdays etc. Also a coordinating numbers set like your alphas would be awesome too! Thanks for all that you share with us and you are by no means a one hit wonder!!! BTW Love your colour choices for your Noah kit and the new felt extras for Jump - will be adding them to my cart next month as I've just about reached my download limit for this month!!
PS Added my love words in for shared but decided to comment on your post here due to the length of my reply!!

Your Layout of Brady it fabulous! I love it! Good Golly if 8 is to old for pirates then what in heavens name are they supposed to do, drink coffee and talk about sports! Bethany has a word art today that says 'let them be little for they are only that way for a little time' Which I find so appropriate!!! :)
Thanks for the great goodie!

I had also thought of the sign for I love you. Can't help out with other languages - sorry. Brail maybe? LOL Yes, I too have found other people's children annoying - I'm glad I'm not alone. :)
Brady has the same exact birthday as my nephew - he too turned 8 last Saturday (the 14th). He's my first nephew and it's amazing how fast the time has gone.
Thank you.

In south louisiana, the cajuns say "cher bebe" when commenting on cute kids. It means "dear little one". Often shortened to "cher".

Thank you for the Jump L's!
I don't know which post I wrote it in, or if it was the right post, so here I go again:
I love you in Norwegian: Jeg elsker deg
Posted by: Vedette | June 22, 2008 at 11:11 AM
Others have already said this, but, in my biased opinion, eight years old is NOT too old for a pirate theme party. My kid [7] would love it, but then he's also game for a Build-a-Bear party or opening up a Lego Store where he could build whatever for 90 minutes. :-) Where I live, the traditional "at home" birthday party doesn't seem to happen a lot - maybe the houses are smaller so we can't fit everyone in - so we tend to have places host the parties - bowling alley, karate studio, jump house, baseball games, etc. As long as your son had fun, to me, that's the important part. Hang in there and hugs - yes, kids are growing up faster these days [though I'm sure our parents said the same about us!].

I love you in Finnish is Minä rakastan sinua.
